Colorado Cosmetology License

The process for getting a Colorada cosmetology license in cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, or barbering from the Colorado State Board of Cosmetology, all eligible students must fulfill the Colorado cosmetology license requirements listed below. As stated by the Colorado Board of Cosmetology, to obtain a Colorado cosmetology license, you must have attended a Colorado cosmetology school or when moving into the state, the Colorado Board of Cosmetology, requires you to satisfy their requirements. After completing your schooling, you are required to pass a licensing exam issue by the Colorado State Board of Cosmetology. After successfully passing the exam, you will receive your Colorado cosmetology license. You’re now permitted to work in the state of Colorado. Colorado State Board of Cosmetology License Requirements
COSMETOLOGIST: 1800 (60 credits)
BARBER: 1500 (50 credits)
COSMETICIAN: 600 (20 credits)
MANICURIST: 600 (20 credits)
HAIRSTYLIST: 1200 (40 credits)

Colorado State Board of Cosmetology Minimum Requirements
Applicants for licensure must be at least 16 years of age. Home salons and mobile salons are allowed.

Colorado does not have reciprocity, we have endorsement and everyone who holds an active license in another state may apply for endorsement and everyone is reviewed on an individual basis.
